Can I use my phone to scan barcodes?

Yes. Even though most of us are used to scanning QR codes by pulling up our camera and pointing it at a QR code, your phone camera can also be used to scan barcodes. This works by logging into the Flowtrac app (found in the App store and Google Play Store). When you want to scan with your phone, you let app know to pull up your camera and begin scanning by touching the little barcode camera icon in the barcode fields.

Tip!

When you use a camera as a scanner, you will need a fair amount of lighting. If the lighting in the room is too dark for your camera to read the dark lines of the barcodes, then you type the barcode or use the magnifying glass to search by name or description.
